At Ernst Funeral & Cremation Services, we try to provide you and your family with a variety of options and selections. There is no "one-way" or "standard way" when it comes to Funeral & Cremation Services. We are proud to present our Cremation Simplicity offerings. These are broken down into five commonly selected tiers. All tiers can be customized to fit your exact wishes. You can also browse through our in-house urn selection photo gallery on our Merchandise page.

Tier One - Cremation with no memorial service

Professional Services of Funeral Director and Staff

-First notification of death

-24 hours on-call responsive services

-Office and facilities for consultation with family

-Funeral director services to finalize disposition

-Coordination with crematory

-Securing and preparing official documents

-Maintaining the operation of a full-service funeral home including but

                  not limited to taxes, custodial services, salaries and utilities.

 Care and Custody

-Refrigeration and care of your loved one until all official documents,

                  permits and authorizations are finalized to proceed with cremation.

 

Transfer of Remains to Funeral Home & Utility Vehicle

-24-hour removal services from place of death

-Obtaining State of Iowa Medical Examiner Permit

Cremation Process

-Cremation process and procedure

-Minimum fiberboard container for cremation

-Temporary urn if no permanent urn is selected

Tier Two - Cremation with no memorial service with a private family viewing prior to the cremation process.

Includes everything from Tier One AND:

-Up to 30 minutes of private viewing for immediate family members

      (up to 15 people at time of arrangements)

-Use of private visitation room

-Loved one is placed on a draped dressing table with pillow

      and comforter cover.


Tier Three - Cremation with graveside service at cemetery of choice**

Includes everything from Tier 1 AND:

-Arrangement, Coordination and Funeral Director & Professional

      Staff at Graveside Service at cemetery of choice

-Coordination with cemetery staff, officiant, etc.

-Small drapery over grave space along with Memorial Table for

      urn/picture/flower placement

-35 Basic Memorial Folders

**Does not include formal graveside set-up (Tent, Chairs & Greenery) or opening/closing of grave.


Tier Four - Cremation with Ceremony/Celebration of Life/Visitation at Ernst Funeral Home or location/church of choice.

Includes everything from Tier One AND:

 -Memorial/Celebration of Life Service at Church / Other Facility or

Memorial/Celebration of Life Service at Ernst Funeral Home

-Arrangement & coordination with officiant, musicians, participants, etc.

- Funeral director & professional staff to oversee service

-Use of equipment, flower stands, etc.

-Delivery & set-up of flowers, photos, memory table, etc. to church/facility

-Use of Ernst Funeral Home music library / music center

-Memory sharing table, stands, easels, donation envelopes, etc.

-Utility vehicle for any necessary items for service

-Local delivery of flowers, memory table items after service

-Live-Streaming of service on media platform (if desired)

-50 memorial folder handouts and 25 custom printed thank you notes


Tier Five - Funeral and Visitation with Loved One Present prior to cremation at Ernst Funeral Home or Location/Church of your choice.

Includes everything from Tier One AND:

 -Funeral at Ernst Funeral Home with Loved One Present Prior to Cremation or

Funeral at Church / Other Facility with Loved One Present Prior to Cremation

-Embalming & other preparation of loved one

-Hairdressing

-Cosmetology

-Dressing & casketing

-Solid hardwood rental casket for service/visitation

-Arrangement & coordination with officiant, musicians, participants, etc.

-Funeral director & professional staff to oversee service and prior visitation

-Use of equipment, flower stands, etc.

-Delivery & set-up of flowers, photos, memory table, etc. to church/facility

-Use of Ernst Funeral Home music library / music center

-Memory sharing table, stands, easels, donation envelopes, etc.

-Utility vehicle for any necessary items for service

-Local delivery of flowers, memory table items after service

-Live-Streaming of service on media platform (if desired)

We are a full-service, locally family owned and operated, funeral & cremation provider.  We adhere to the highest standards, morals and practices.  We don't "lure" one in with low-ball pricing and then add-on every possible cost imaginable.  In this day and age, price comparison is an important step, and we encourage that process; however, we just ask that when doing so, you compare apples to apples and look at the entire picture versus an advertised "special" price.  We provide exceptional, personalized, 24-hour service to every family we serve.  If you are only in search of the lowest price body disposal company, you will need to keep looking, as we are not that type of business.  You and your family deserve the best - and that is exactly what you will receive day in and day out from Ernst Funeral & Cremation Services.
