William "Bill" Edward Biersma

William "Bill" Edward Biersma, age 61, of Farmington, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a 13 ½ month courageous battle with cancer. Bill was an avid golfer and had a way to make everyone laugh even on his final days.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Cindy of 39 years; daughter, Jill (Alan) Hauge of Farmington, Minnesota; brother, John (Connie) Biersma of Earlham, Iowa; sister, Betty (Jim) Liebsack of Minburn, Iowa; sister-in-law, Nancy Biersma of Waukee, Iowa; grandchildren: Ashton, Brayden and Ally Hauge; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Riem Biersma and brother, Siep Biersma.

Bill was his grandson, Ashton’s, biggest hockey fan. Memorial contributions may be made to Farmington Youth Hockey Association (FYHA) and sent to Jill Hauge at 19634 Camrose Way, Farmington, MN 55024.

Bill’s final gift will be giving the gift of sight to 2 individuals. His eyes were donated as he was thought to be a perfect candidate for donation.

Visitation/Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019, from 4-6 pm, at Ernst Funeral Home in Waukee, Iowa. Private Interment Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 11:00 am, at the Waukee Cemetery.
