Wayne Joseph Franco, who was born on November 10, 1928 to Salvador and Evelyn (Fredrick) Franco in Sioux City, IA, passed away at the age of 88 at Kavanagh House Hospice in Des Moines, IA on September 13, 2017. Committal Military Services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, immediately followed by a memorial gathering at the Veterans Reception Center in Van Meter. Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Navy from November 11, 1946 to November 6, 1947 as a Fireman First Class on the USS Brayton, 19th Fleet, San Diego, CA. By profession, Wayne was a talented glass blower. He enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator, traveling and was a huge Iowa Hawkeye Fan. Wayne married the love of his life Donna R. Stearns in Adel, IA on September 3, 1996. Wayne is survived by his wife Donna of Waukee; children
