Troy Robert Smith

Troy Robert Smith, born in Austin, MN on November 21st, 1970, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 29th, 2021. Visitation will be held on December 10th from 5-7 pm and funeral services will be held Saturday December 11th at 11 am, both will be held at Ashworth Road Baptist Church and a reception will be held there following the service. Services will be live streamed and can be viewed via website link below.

Troy was born and raised in Austin, MN before moving several times in high school. He eventually landed in Des Moines in 1987. There he met the love of his life Brandi Norrell at the West Des Moines Hy-Vee. They were married in April of 1992, and after moving to Rochester, MN for three years, they came back and settled in Waukee in June of 2000 where they raised their three children.

After being a kitchen manager at Hy-Vee for 12 years, Troy made a career change when he got back to Waukee. He helped transition the one-person operation of his mother’s company Linda’s Painting into the well-respected corporation known as Accurate Painting today.

Troy was a dedicated family man through and through. He loved spending time with his children and going on little getaways with his wife as often as he could. Outside of his family, Troy made as much time as he could for anyone lucky enough to call him friend. He was always willing to help those who needed it and did so without question.

In addition to his love of family and friends, Troy was a loyal and spirited Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed watching games with his son Cole. He also enjoyed the outdoors and shooting guns when he had some free time.

He is survived by his wife, Brandi Smith; his children Cole Smith, Liz Smith and Tabitha Smith; his siblings Treavor Smith (Amanda), Tricia VandenLangenberg (Jim) and Ashley Smith; his parents Garry Smith (Shelly) and Linda Youngmark; his grandmother Doris Smith and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents Walter and Ione Youngmark and Bob “Smitty” Smith; his uncles John Smith and Ronald, Arden and Richard Youngmark and his aunts Donna Becker and Pamela Wagner.
