Treva Sue Bassett

Treva Sue Bassett, passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 62 in Champaign, Illinois. She was born to Stan Kracht and Beverly Saunders on December 31, 1960, in Denison, Iowa.

Treva's commitment and loyalty to her country were evident throughout her military career. She served with honor and distinction, retiring from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant. Her unwavering dedication to the service was an inspiration to her colleagues and a testament to her character.

Besides her military achievements, Treva graduated from Denison High School in 1979 and pursued her education further by graduating from Wayne State College and eventually earned her Masters Degree. She believed in the importance of continuous learning and set an example for others to follow.

Known for her joyful and caring nature, Treva was deeply loved by her family and friends. She had a thoughtful and selfless personality that touched the lives of those around her. Her generosity knew no bounds as she always went above and beyond to support her loved ones.

Treva is survived by her son Thomas Anthony Bassett, her daughter Jasmine Brielle Bassett, granddaughter Aiyana Penelope Bassett, and grandson Avyan Micah Bassett. They were treasured members of Treva's life whom she held dear to her heart.

To honor Treva's memory, a Funeral Service will be held at Ernst Funeral Home in Waukee, Iowa on December 12, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment with military rites at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, Iowa.

The passing of Treva Sue Bassett leaves behind a void that will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy as a devoted soldier and a loving individual will continue to inspire future generations. May she rest in peace surrounded by eternal gratitude for her sacrifice and love for her country and loved ones.
