Shirley Ann Manders, 88, passed away peacefully at the Taylor House on September, 15, 2017 with her family by her side. She was a strong lady with a generous heart and a smile that would light up a room. She was always happiest when visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved hearing about their lives and giving them chocolate chip cookies. Her constant example of love and kindness created a strong, close knit family that will live on for generations to come. Shirley is survived by her children: Debbie (Doug) Paup, Pam (Larry) Bailiff, Karen Kiene, Chuck (Janet) Manders, Marcia (Terry) Frahm and Parvin (Paul) Veatch; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and family friend Ruth Cooper. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m., immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service, both at Ernst Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Taylor House Hospice, St. Jude Children's Hospital or The Smile Train.Shirley Ann Manders, 88, passed away peacefully at the Taylor House on September, 15, 2017 with her family by her side. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 p.m., both at Ernst Funeral Home of Waukee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Taylor House Hospice, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Smile Train.
