Sharon Catherine Hoffman

Sharon Catherine Hoffman, who was born on June 30, 1945 in Des Moines, IA passed away at her home in Waukee, IA, on April 28, 2017 at the age of 71.

Sharon attended and graduated from Des Moines Tech High School. She went on to meet the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Hoffman and on June 4, 1966 the two of them were united in marriage in Des Moines, IA.

Sharon was a part-time secretary for St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee, IA for over 20 years. Her talent for calligraphy could be seen through the countless number of handmade baptism and first communion certificates she created for church members over the years.
Sharon enjoyed crafting and reading. Her faith and church were very important to her. She had a passion and love for animals that could be seen from the number of pets and cats she and her husband cared for over the years.
Sharon is survived by her husband Bob; children Johanna Hoffman of Waukee and Mark (Jennifer) Hoffman of Des Moines; grandchildren Tyler and Hoffman Grenz, Meredith and Mara Hoffman and one grandson on the way; great-grandchildren Ella Jean and Carter Michael and four cats. She was preceded in death by her parents Elton and Dorothy Patterson.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church Parish Hall, 1200 Warrior Lane, Waukee, IA, with a family remembrance sharing at 5:30 p.m. Memorial donations can be made in Sharon's memory to: Animal Lifeline of Iowa, P.O.
