Seth Marshall Applegate, 27, of Adel, IA passed away unexpectedly at his home August 11, 2017 in Urbandale, IA. Seth’s birth was a surprise on July 24, 1990 in Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. with Funeral Services being held Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., both at New Hope Assembly of God in Urbandale, Iowa. Seth went to Des Moines Christian School through 3rd grade before moving to an acreage with his family in Adel, where he later graduated from ADM High School. Seth thoroughly embraced life in the country. From hunting, camping, time on the river, overall exploration, and rolling cars he immensely enjoyed his time outdoors. With backpack, tent, and hammock in hand, Seth was known to show up anytime, anywhere ready for that next great adventure. The family was once concerned when they thought he was homeless, however, Seth calmly explained, “I’m just camping for an extended period of time;” he genuinely meant it! His bright smile was contagious and his sincere appreciation for the little things in life was refreshing. He once spent an entire afternoon helping a complete stranger, an older gentleman, pull all the weeds from his driveway; not just because it was the right thing to do he said, but because it was also fun! While having several different jobs that allowed Seth to thoroughly enjoy the “important or simple” things in life, his current job with an airline company literally took him all over the world. This allowed him to slowly begin one of his quests to become a world traveler. Seth is survived by his mother Anita Applegate, his father Denny Applegate JR, his brother Jacob, his sister Carli (Jacob) Chapman and his twin sister Sadie (Patrick) Chandler, his grandmother Sally Wilson and grandparents Denny and Judy Applegate Sr. He is also survived by numerous great aunts, great uncles, aunts, uncles, and many cousins with whom Seth was very close to. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to “A Heinz 57” Pet Rescue for his love of dogs…….. Seth always talked of raising an entire litter of puppies together on his own, and naming his favorite “Pancake” ☺
