Peyton was a 2018 graduate of Waukee High School and a third- year student at Iowa State University majoring in Apparel Design and Merchandising with plans to continue in the Master’s program and dreams to become a buyer for a large nation-wide department store. Peyton was a kind and generous person, with a smile that filled the room. She was a true girly girl with a flair for fashion. She loved putting various pieces of clothing and accessories together to create just the right outfit. Peyton was the perfect combination of sweetness with a sprinkling of sassiness and was still a kid at heart. Her witty, dry sense of humor filled the house with laughter as she had the uncanny ability to time a comment at exactly the right moment. She was the fiercest, most determined girl with the best belly-laugh and sun kissed freckles in the summer. She was our Pooh Bear, our punkie pie, and her mom’s baby doll.
In her free time Peyton enjoyed spending time with friends and her family, watching movies, Disney and reality television shows, doing puzzles, crafts and cooking. This Hawkeye fan turned Cyclone girl enjoyed college football games and tailgating. Her true love was vacationing with her parents and sister, especially at the beach. She was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority at ISU and found a long lasting group of friends in her sorority sisters and roommates.
Peyton is survived by her parents, Kellee Chilton of Clive, IA and Allan Chilton (Angela) of Urbandale, IA, sister Madeline Chilton of Cedar Falls, IA, grandparents Lowell and Carolyn Wiele of Chariton, IA and Paul and Phyllis Chilton of Chariton, IA, her special friend Christopher Laffey of Des Moines, IA, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her numerous friends and sorority sisters also held a special place in her heart.
Although she is no longer with us, we know she is with the Lord, living eternal life and looking down upon all of us with a huge smile. She was a gift that blessed everyone she touched for 20 years. Peyton, we love you to the moon and back infinity times!
