Nelson Michael Chaya

Nelson Michael Chaya, who was born to Stanley & Mary Chaya in Cleveland, OH, went to be with his Heavenly Father after a brief battle with lung cancer on March 31, 2018 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. Nelson married the love of his life, Nora in Adel, IA on July 3, 1989. Nelson worked as a custodian for Firestone and the Waukee Community School District. He bravely and proudly served his country in the Marines and Army. He enjoy biking and fishing and loved his model trains. Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Nora; kids Stephanie, Melissa and Joe and he also leaves behind many additional family members and friends. In honoring Nelson's wishes, he has been cremated and no services will be held. The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice in Johnston for the wonderful care Nelson received and helping keep him comfortable as he took this final journey.Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Nora; kids Stephanie, Melissa and Joe and also leaves behind many additional family members and friends.
