Moui Dzith Lao was born in Hoa Binh, Vietnam and resettled in Iowa with her family in January of 1980. She is remembered by seven children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Moui enjoyed knitting accessories for her friends and family, cooking traditional Southeast Asian cuisine, singing, dancing, and playing cards and socializing with her community.
She passed away peacefully at Promedica Nursing Home on the evening of Monday, April 10, 2023.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with a prayer service to follow at 11:00 a.m., both at Ernst Funeral & Cremation Services in Waukee. A luncheon will follow the service with interment rites to be held at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines at 1:00 p.m.
Ernst Funeral & Cremation Services of Waukee has been entrusted with Moui's final arrangements.
