LeAnn Kay Berger, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, at her home in rural Dallas Center, Iowa, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, with her devoted husband by her side. She was born on October 14, 1954, in Mason City, Iowa, to Kenneth and Lavonne (Anderson) Johnston, both of whom have predeceased her, along with a brother and sister.
LeAnn's journey took her from the halls of Mason City High School, from where she graduated, to a fulfilling career as a legal secretary for a criminal defense attorney. She dedicated herself to her work with unwavering commitment and grace, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew her professionally.
However, it was within the embrace of her family that LeAnn truly flourished. Married to the love of her life, Danny J. Berger, on January 27, 2000, their union was one filled with affection and partnership. Together they built a warm, loving home that was the heartland of cherished memories.
LeAnn found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild, whose laughter and happiness brightened her days. She poured her heart into making their moments special, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories. Her passions extended beyond family; LeAnn loved sewing and had a particular fondness for American Girl Dolls, even finding joy in selling and buying items on Poshmark.
Known for her warm spirit and nurturing nature, LeAnn leaves behind her loving husband, Dan Berger, son Joe Shannon and daughter Angie Madagan. Each of them carries a piece of her heart, a reminder of her love and the amazing impact she made in their lives.
In keeping with LeAnn's wishes, she has been cremated and no services are currently planned at this time. LeAnn Kay Berger's absence will be deeply felt; however, her legacy of kindness, love, and dedication will continue to resonate through the lives she touched. As we remember her today, we celebrate not only her life but the warmth and brightness she shared with all of us.
