Karolyn Rae Pagel

Karolyn Rae (Berry) Pagel, 56, “26” of Waukee, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2017 after a long battle with uterine cancer. A remembrance gathering will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Legacy Clubhouse, 600 Colonial Circle, Norwalk, Iowa. Karolyn was a loving and doting wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Michael; daughters Nicole (Duane) and Courtney (James); her beautiful granddaughters Briana and Cheyene; parents Hank and June Berry; siblings Shelia (Doug), Jeff (Janet), Dan (Alicia), Tim (Mona) and Jay (Bernie) and many cousins. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, but none loved her quite as much as her niece Tiffany and nephew Jeremy. Karolyn graduated from Norwalk High School in 1979. Karolyn’s favorite activities included playing with her granddaughters, playing games and making “middle of the night” snack runs. She loved her cats almost as much as she loved people. She was fond of unicorns and The Carpenters. She will be remembered for her notorious “middle of the night” phone calls, her silly behavior and funny comments. She will be sorely missed.
