Jayne Kay Hahne

Jayne Hahne, 71 of Waukee, Iowa, passed away on February 24, 2021 at MercyOne Hospice in Johnston, Iowa, from an injury and Alzheimer’s disease.  She was born January 30, 1950 in Newton, Iowa to Charles and Marian Thormann.  She grew up all around Iowa but her most fond memories were from the years she lived in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She loved the lake in the summer and ice skating and tobogganing in the winter.  Jayne was blessed with two daughters from her first marriage and enjoyed working at home when they were little.  She worked full time in Nevada and Webster City, Iowa until retiring in 2015 as a bank teller.  After retirement, she and her husband Richard Hahne moved from Webster City to Waukee, Iowa.  Jayne loved her family, but most of all loved being a grandmother!

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents; beloved sister Georgia Schneekloth; in-laws Richard and Louise Hahne and brothers-in-law Fred Hahne and Gary Priebe. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 25 years Richard Hahne; daughters Jill (Gary) Hahn of Omaha, NE, and Holli (Doug) Wilson of Waukee, IA; bonus children, which includes Laura Hahne of Waterloo, IA, Rick (Michelle) Hahne of Buckner, MO, and Jason (Kelani) Hahne of Webster City, IA. She is also survived by her extended family of brother-in-law Harlo Schneekloth of Madison, AL, sisters-in-law Jennifer Priebe of Algona, IA, and Kathy Hahne of Edmond, OK, and 13 cherished grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank all of the staff at MercyOne Hospice for her care in the final days of her life.
