Booneville

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Ruth McAtee, who departed from this world on July 22, 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa. Jane was born on October 20, 1947 and grew up in Dexter, Iowa.

Jane graduated Dexfield High School in 1965, laying the foundation for her future accomplishments. She led a fulfilling career and retired from ITA Group as their dedicated Mail Room Supervisor. Her commitment to her work and colleagues made a lasting impact within the company.

Those who knew Jane understood her as a compassionate soul with a deep love for animals, especially cats. She cherished moments surrounded by her family, finding joy in their company. In her leisure time, Jane indulged in various hobbies such as knitting, supporting her favorite sports teams - the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers, and admiring wildlife, with a special fondness for baby deer.

Jane McAtee was not just a colleague and friend; she was a beloved wife to Ed McAtee. She is survived by her husband, daughters Tina Inman and Tara (Jon) Riney, and step-son Matt (Amy) McAtee, grandchildren Brady and Brennan Dolde and Milo and Wyatt McAtee and sister Patsy Hall.  She was preceded in death by her parents James and Meta Stegall and brother, Jim Ludwick.

In this time of grieving, let us remember Jane's legacy through the memories we shared with her.  A private family graveside service will be held at the Booneville Cemetery.

Ernst Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Waukee has been entrusted with Jane's final arrangements.
