Evelyn J. Marsh, 66, of Waukee, passed away on June 14, 2016, surrounded by her family, at Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa. She fought a long battle of ailments, ultimately succumbing to complications of Diabetes. Evelyn was born March 31, 1950 in Oceanport, New Jersey to Arthur and Laura Walters (Brumfield) MacIntyre. She traveled with her family, as her father was in the army, to Germany, Okinawa and settling in North Carolina; where she met her loving husband of 41 years, Duane. They married on November 1, 1974 and eventually moved to Iowa, where Duane grew up. In the following years, they welcomed two children. Evelyn had a long career at Farm Bureau Financial Services, where she formed many friendships over the years before retiring. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family and pets. She like puzzles and word searches to pass the time. She especially enjoyed movie nights with her husband and close friends Rodney and Jeannine Ryan. She also cherished her chats on the phone with her sister Karen. Evelyn has a very witty sense of humor and the most unique laugh. She will be most remembered for how much she cared for her children and husband. No matter what hardships she was going through, she did anything and everything for her family. Evelyn is survived by her husband Duane of Waukee; son Brian Marsh of Waukee and daughter Theresa of Des Moines and sisters Karen and Bonnie of North Carolina. She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews, who were a large part of her life; and Rodney and Jeannine Ryan of Waukee, who were like family to her. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Laura; step-father Clyde; father-in-law Duane L. and a sister Laurie. Evelyn will be greatly missed by all. In honoring her wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. The family will have a get together to honor her at a later to be determined date. A special thanks to all the staff at Taylor House Hospice for taking such good care of her in her final days.
