Edmund Louis Scarpino

Edmund Louis Scarpino, who was born on June 25, 1928 in Des Moines, IA, passed away September 1, 2018 in Waukee, IA at the age of 90. Private Services will be held at Iowa Veterans Cemetery (IVC).
Ed bravely served in the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Air Force. On September 17, 1955, he married Mary Biondich in Granger, IA. Ed was a photographer who owned his own business, Ed Scarpino Photo, and was a talented artist and cartoonist as well. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golf and gardening.
Ed is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Janel (Frank) Marcovis of Waukee; son Steve of Houston, TX; grandchildren Karen (Malcolm) Goodwin, Mike Marcovis, Jeff Marcovis and Luke Scarpino; three great-grandchildren; siblings Ken and Larry (Sue) Scarpino and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Pearl Scarpino and brother Bill Scarpino.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the "Friends of the Cemetery" (IVC), c/o Ernst Funeral Home. Condolences may also be sent to the funeral home.
