Diane Lynne Myers

Diane Lynne Myers, who was born to James and Marjorie (Thomas) Sellers on April 30, 1954 in Boone, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at her home on February 25, 2019 in Urbandale, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, both at Ernst Funeral Home in Waukee.  Light luncheon/refreshments to follow.

Diane graduated from Boone High School in May of 1972 and went on to marry the love of her life, Gary Myers, on July 1, 1972.  Together they resided in Woodward before moving to Knoxville to raise their family in 1975 and most recently settling in Urbandale in 2014 to be closer to family.  Diane was a teacher's associate at Northstar Elementary in Knoxville before working in the emergency room at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital.  

Diane was an amazing quilter; which could be seen by the numerous beautiful quilts she had displayed around her home.  She enjoyed sewing, reading and thrifting with her daughter-in-law.  She loved spending time with her grandkids, taking cruises and in recent years watching Iowa State Cyclones Basketball and Football.  Diane was a member of the Knoxville Piecemakers Quilt Guild, Des Moines Quilt Guild, Waukee Quilt Guild, Modern Quilt Guild, Long Arm Group and In Stitches Group.

Diane is survived by her mother Marjorie Sellers of Boone; husband Gary of Urbandale; children Laura Myers of Urbandale, Brian (Laura) Myers of Waukee and Kristen (Jon) Clement of Urbandale; grandchildren Alexis Hunter, Lainey and Jillian Clement and Brennan, Mason and Cara Kennedy; brother Steve (Annette) Sellers of Converse, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and in-laws.  She was preceded in death by her father James Sellers and grandmother Hazel Taylor.
