Diana Kamin Ubben Farkas passed away peacefully at Kavanagh House on April 21, 2017 after a painful fight with larynx cancer. Diana was born July 11, 1948 in Philadelphia, PA to Bill and Eleanor (Scharas) Kamin. Before turning one, the family had already moved twice and eventually settled in Westminster, CO where her love of the mountains and open spaces grew. Diana loved horses, dogs and never met a puppy she didn't love. For the past 50 years Diana called Iowa home. After numerous jobs in her youth, she knew she wanted a job where she could travel and be adventurous, which lead her to being a truck driver for 44 years. She was proud to have seen 48 states and the lower Providences of Canada. Her latest employers made the final years of trucking her most enjoyable. She said she saved the best for last. Thanks to Great Central Trucking (Mike Colvin) and FCC in Fremont, NE. In her spare time she loved to read, spend time with family, and chat on the phone with her many friends from around the country. Diana was married to Dan Ubben and Michael Farkas, both marriages ending in divorce. She was devoted to her niece and nephew. Left to remember the fun times shared are her sister Elaine Farrington of Waukee, niece Lisa (Maury Jr) Mitchell and great-nephews Tucker and Tanner Mitchell of Urbandale and great-nieces Jenna and Mallory Farrington of Omaha. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother-in-law Michael Farrington and nephew Steven Farrington. Following her wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held for she knew it would be too hard for her friends from around the country to attend. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Animal Rescue League or the National Park Conservation.
